Type of Requisition:Regular Clearance Level Must Currently Possess:Secret Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain:Top Secret Suitability:No Suitability Required Public Trust/Other Required: Job Family:Network Engineering Job Description: The Senior LAN Administrator in Norfolk, VA will lead all LAN support activities for the DLA site and provide support to the surrounding area in the DLA LAN South region. The selected candidate will provide Tier II level support to the customer and work closely with the LAN South region project manager to coordinate LAN support tasks across multiple sites. The candidate should be able to: Demonstrate knowledge of current LAN technologies, familiarity with equipment from multiple vendors (Cisco, Brocade, etc), and experience providing support to ongoing operations. Demonstrate knowledge of layer two design, Spanning Tree, trunking, and commonly used protocols. Provide support for incident resolution, service request fulfillment, security patching, technical refreshes, and technology upgrades. Manage all phases of telecommunications network design, implementation, and analysis. Provide technical and administrative direction for personnel responsible for telecommunications operations tasks. This includes the review of work for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards, and managing progress in accordance with schedules. Coordinate support activities between multiple stakeholders. Manage an assigned ticketing queue and ensure timely resolution of tickets. Update Network Diagrams and draft recommended network changes for review. Qualifications: 10 years of general network experience, including 8 years of experience providing LAN support and network engineering services. Certifications: CCNA / CCNP or equivalent network R/S certification. DoD 8570 IAT II Compliant Security Certification (Ex: Security+CE / CCNA Security). Favorably adjudicated SSBI investigation (TOP SECRET Clearance) preferred. Candidates with a SECRET clearance will be considered. Additional Job Description We are GDIT.
