External Job Description
Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the construction process for AOR including defining the project scope, goals and deliverables that support build strategy and key event schedule. Manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders to ensure quality and safety standards are met and that work is being performed as scheduled within contract specifications. Identify and expedite the resolution of design, material, grouping, scheduling, manpower, or other problems that could risk accomplishment of critical path work. Liaise with trades’ management to control cost performance within AOR, to include determination of overtime requirements and identification/management of cost drivers. Assess all growth work and/or contract funded point changes are evaluated to ensure funding is authorized and work is integrated and achievable within schedule. Identify impact and potential risks and devise contingency plans. Perform inspections including, but not limited to, preliminary structural inspections, tank/void inspections, yard final inspections, inspection to support release of concealing materials, compartment and system turnover inspections and test inspections. Document discrepancies and issue to responsible party for corrections. Assess safety risks within AOR and develop mitigations plans as appropriate.

5 years Construction Supervisor 2 experience AND PMI or equivalent certification in project management OR
BS/Apprentice + 8 years combined construction management and production management experience (this can include a min. of 4 years construction/production management experience AND 4 years of combined exempt experience in Planning, Production Control, Engineering, Construction/Project, Merchant Marine) AND PMI or equivalent certification in project management
This position is with the CVN74 RCOH Nuclear Propulsion project team. Specifically for Nuclear Propulsion Bilge overhaul integration efforts (Shaft Alleys, MMR’s, CTG’s, FCR’s and RAR’s with the system work needing to be completed in those areas). Robust planning, project integration across superintendent areas of responsibility, schedule risk mitigation, and execution management necessary to achieve FDD/UDK as well as support the critical path nuclear test program through RF flushing. This position will influence across Superintendent AORs (NU, PP, HT, etc.) and directly inform both Construction Directors and the Program Director on recommendations to achieve these program key event and milestones to minimize the duration to redelivery of the JOHN C. STENNIS.
This position will have a tremendous level of responsibility and would need to possess high:
Team building skills
Technical RCOH knowledge & work integration (systems/scope/sequence/trades/support services)
Customer (Internal / External) interface skills
Knowledge of Nuclear and Propulsion Plant Systems and Operations (eg. Steaming / SGCC / System Maintenance / path from dock to Reserve Feed flushing and to Cold Ops) for the nuclear propulsion system work that competes for space in the propulsion bilges would be beneficial and is preferred. This individual must have knowledge of the bilge preservation processes including the applicable craftsmen / engineering / inspection / govt / project team players. This individual must be able to influence peers and manager 3 band to achieve joint objectives. This position will directly inform Director level oversight & decision making as well as stakeholder actions (including necessary government approvals) to achieve program requirements.
